2010-10-15 5th Annual Independent Film and the Law Seminar
Please save Friday, October 15, 2010 to attend EASL’s 5th Annual Independent Film and the Law Seminar to be held in conjunction with the Jacksonville Film Festival (October 14-17th). The seminar will be held from 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the beautiful Museum of Contemporary Art in downtown Jacksonville. CLE credit has been applied for and should amount to 7 credits including 1.5 ethics. Topics will include “License to Kill” (securing rights to everything you don’t own but want and protecting what you have); “Norma Rae” (understanding union issues and dealing with talent generally); the “Good, the Bad and the Ugly Volume V” (examining how lawyers are portrayed in film); and “Inception” (getting that first investment and distribution deal). We hope to have the full brochure out within the next few weeks for general registration. Please note that the Festival will also be offering discounts for anyone who wants to attend other Festival activities as well upon proof of registering for the seminar. For more information now, please contact Carolyn Herman, Program Chair, directly at hermanlaw@comcast.net.
